It’s Been A Busy Year!

If you’ve followed the international news at all in recent months, the news coming out of Haiti these days is pretty dismal. With continued political unrest and ongoing violence in the capital and surrounding areas, it can seem as though Haiti will never catch a break. As with most things, however, the noise and chaos override the beauty, and so today, I’m here to update you on the bountiful year Gospel Growers has had, providing just a little bit of support, hope, and joy to the people on the southern coast. Today, there is much to be grateful for!

Thanks to the hard work and ongoing determination of the Haitian men and women, and the generous support from near and far, this year has been a successful one. A new church foundation and walls have been laid in Metayer, a fruitful school year was completed in the 8 schools supported by Gospel Growers, and radio Semence FM has continued to provide worship and encouragement to so many on the coast. In the face of extreme adversity, we continue to be humbled and grateful for the work of this grassroots organization, thanks be to God.

Thanks to the generous donations of a few, the church in Metayer has taken form. The foundation of the building has been laid, and the walls have been erected. Currently, materials are being gathered to build the roof for the structure. With the completed roof, the building will be used for both church and school purposes, serving the area of Metayer for years to come. This building is a blessing for which this area has long been waiting and praying. Members from this church have also come together to help plant a church in a surrounding area known as Koray Labe. They are going to provide the Koray Labe area with a missionary Pastor and the materials to teach and mentor the community. Sam’s vision from 20 years ago, Haitians teaching and mentoring Haitians, to spread the Word of God, is coming to fruition. What a beautiful thing to watch unfold.

The 8 schools supported by Gospel Grower’s sponsors continue to thrive. Quality education by community teachers ensues, as children learn their academics and the love of Christ. Thank you for your ongoing support. Below are pictures of students finishing up their annual exams at the end of the school year. Students are currently on their summer break!

Radio Semence FM is back up and running, with a new and improved radio antenna. Go to our homepage to have a listen for yourself! The station continues to spread far and wide along the coast, providing encouragement to many. Pictured below is Ovard, mixing the music to be played over the airways.

The needs in Haiti continue to be great, but we are beyond excited for the fruitful year here at Gospel Growers and beyond grateful for the ongoing support of so many. We truly could not do it without you. We continue to pray for the direction of the organization, and we encourage you to partner alongside us in praying for the vision and direction of the future! Thank you, thank you.
